As senior citizens, my husband and I were finding it hard to financially live in our present home without depleting our investment, and social security wasn't enough to sustain us. We investigated living in a senior community and liked the idea. Our realtor, financial advisor and mortgage consultant (Nathan Nelson) suggested a reverse mortgage. We investigated the pros and cons to a reverse mortgage and decided to proceed. It has been the best thing we did! We love our new house and financially we are in a much better place. I find that the best way to find a good company is by word of mouth from friends, family, and co-workers. EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!

In the beginning of November we went into contract to purchase a home and the bank gave us three weeks to close the home (close by November 21st, 2008). We decided to look at three different loan officers and found Nathan to be upfront, honest and answered our many, many questions. Nathan’s close attention to detail, accuracy and quick-turnaround times were impressive so we chose Nathan to close our loan.

Nathan said he could get the loan done in this timeframe while the other loan officers we interviewed and started the process with said they couldn’t do the loan that fast. The other loan officers/brokers even asked that if Nathan could close the loan would we call them after the home closes to see who and where Nathan works. One of the other loan officers worked for one of the nations largest independent mortgage lenders who we have worked with before and we wanted our loan with them. The loan officer for this company stated after seeing our information he wouldn’t be able to close our loan. Ironically, Nathan closed our loan and to our surprise it was closed by Nathan with that same lender above where their own loan officer/broker stated he could not close this loan. Our loan took a lot of time and effort but Nathan persevered.

From the beginning Nathan was efficient. He would call us when he said he would call, he would email us when he said he would email us. He checked in daily at the beginning of the day by email or phone to tell us what he needed or a status report and checked in at the end of the day with the progress for the day. His day starts early at 5-6am and I could email him questions at night and have them answered by the morning. Nathan kept in contact with our Realtor and the seller’s Realtor with updates and status reports. He kept things running smoothly.

Nathan was positive during the process and didn’t feed into our anxiety or worry. Nathan has an extremely professional, yet humble and calm demeanor. He had patience with all of the changes that needed to be made to make this loan work. He walked us through the process step by step and was thorough when explaining changes, issues that would arise or any and all paperwork.

My husband is a hard person to impress. It takes a lot for him to trust a process and by the end he smiled and said, “Nathan is a man of his word.”

Nathan was our loan officer and now is a friend and someone that we would HIGHLY recommend. We would feel comfortable saying that Nathan is an EXPERT loan broke/mortgage consultant. We believe in Nathan’s loan process. I would be happy to talk to anyone who has any questions.
